WQED Film Academy Film & Media College Fair — focusing on film, broadcasting, and media-centric programs

WQED Film Academy is proud to offer a Film & Media College Fair for students interested in pursuing film, digital media, and/or content creation in the Fall of each year.

If you are a high school student curious about pursuing a career in filmmaking, broadcasting, and digital arts, you’ll want to know about the numerous higher education opportunities in Pittsburgh and beyond. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter so you get notified!

Participating schools provide short videos for the students to watch ahead of time to help narrow their list, familiarize themselves with their programs, and come prepared to ask questions.

We offer two formats: Virtual and In Person.

Virtual: The first two hours will be reserved for students to peruse the colleges—each in their respective breakout room—for group discussion where they can ask questions and get to know more about each school and their programming. The last hour is reserved for Steeltown alumni and current college students to come together to chat with high schoolers in a peer-based Q&A session.

In-Person: For the in-person fair students have the opportunity to meet with faculty from programs in which they’re interested.
